Cruising with Royal Caribbean always gives us the chance to discover new dining spots, since it’s one of the biggest cruise fleets with many dining options across its ships. Because of that variety, we usually like to be a bit daring and try different restaurants whether they are complimentary or specialty. On our recent sailing, we decided it was time to try Jamie’s Italian.

Making a reservation ensures you get a table at your preferred time. You can book in advance through the cruise planner or onboard at the restaurant. 

Royal Caribbean Jamie’s Italian Reviews

After trying different specialty restaurants across several Royal Caribbean ships, Zoe and I were excited to visit Jamie’s Italian again during our recent cruise on Harmony of the Seas. I was really craving Italian food on this sailing, and Jamie’s felt like the right choice because it is open for both lunch and dinner and has a warm, relaxed atmosphere that feels easy to enjoy. 

We went for lunch on the second day of our cruise since lunch costs less than dinner and still gives you almost the same experience. For starters, I ordered the garlic buns, which was warm and full of flavor, while Zoe enjoyed the truffle arancini with its crispy texture. For our mains, my favorite was the truffle tagliatelle because it was creamy and rich without being too heavy, and Zoe chose the prawn linguine, which tasted fresh with a light kick.

We kept our sides simple with crispy fries and had iced tea and lemonade to keep the meal light. Lunch felt calm, relaxed and quick, which we both liked a lot. 

Later in the cruise, we returned for dinner and the atmosphere felt a bit more special with a slightly bigger menu and a classic evening dining vibe. We shared the ultimate garlic bread again along with the meat plank, which came with cured meats and cheese. For mains, I chose the lamb chops, which were tender and well-seasoned, and Zoe tried the chicken parmigiana, which she found juicy and flavorful.

We added polenta chips on the side and enjoyed a glass of red wine and an Aperol Spritz with our meal. For dessert, we shared the epic brownie, warm and chocolatey, and definitely one of our favorite desserts on the ship. 

Overall, Jamie’s Italian is a place Zoe and I always enjoy when sailing with Royal Caribbean. The food is flavorful, the service is friendly and the whole experience feels comforting and easy. Personally, I actually prefer lunch more than dinner because the lunch menu is very similar to the dinner menu. It may be slightly limited, but it still offers the same main favorites at a lower price, which makes lunch the better choice in my opinion.
