What is the Dress Code for MSC Cruises Main Dining Room?

MSC Cruises has two main types of dress codes for dinner time in their Main Dining Room:

MSC Main Dining Room Dress Code for Casual Nights

Men can wear nice pants or khakis paired with collared shirts, polo shirts, or button-down shirts and no need for jackets or ties for casual nights. Women have lots of options including sundresses, casual dresses, skirts with nice tops, or dressy pants with blouses. 

Note: Remember that even on casual nights, beachwear and overly casual items like flip-flops or shorts aren’t appropriate for the main dining room. 

MSC Main Dining Room Dress Code for Formal Nights

Cruisers are expected to dress up nicely on formal nights (gala or elegant nights). Men should wear either a dark suit with a tie, a dinner jacket, or even a tuxedo if they wish.  

Women can choose from evening gowns, cocktail dresses, or other dressy outfits for these special nights, which often feature unique menus and chances to take photos with the ship’s captain.  

MSC Dress Code for Children

MSC Cruises dining dress code is more relaxed for kids than adults but still requires neat and clean clothing. On formal nights, children should wear their best outfits. If you have Bella or Fantastica Experience, you can request either early or late dining when making your reservation, but these are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and your preferred time isn’t guaranteed.  

For Aurea Experience guests, there’s more flexibility with My Choice dining times, allowing you to eat when you prefer.  

You’ll get your final dining time and table number when you board the ship, and if needed, you can try to change these arrangements once you’re on board.
