When you board the Carnival Sunshine for a vacation, choosing the right cabin is important for a relaxing experience. This ship has many room options, but some may not be ideal. In this guide, we will help you avoid the rooms on the Carnival Sunshine that may not be the best choice. Knowing which Carnival Sunshine rooms to avoid can make your cruise more enjoyable.

Interior Cabins with Obstructed Views 

Some interior cabins may have their views partially or completely obstructed by lifeboats, tenders, or other ship structures. These cabins are usually more affordable but can feel enclosed and lacking in natural light. Interior cabins with obstructed views include those on Deck 6 from cabins 6101 to 6106 and Deck 7 from cabins 7101 to 7106. 

Balcony Cabins with Obstructed Views 

Some balcony cabins may have their views partially obstructed by tenders or other structures. These obstructions can limit the view from the balcony and the cabin itself. Balcony cabins with obstructed views include Category 4J cabins (3112, 3115, 3116, 3119, 3120, 3123, 3124, 3127, 3128, 3131, 3132, 3135, 3136, 3139, 3140, and 3143). 

Oceanview Cabins with Obstructed Views 

Certain Oceanview cabins may have their views partially blocked by lifeboats and other structures. These cabins have smaller windows or portholes, and the obstructions can limit the view of the ocean and horizon. Oceanview cabins with obstructed views include Categories 1A cabins (1401, 1402, 1405, 1406, 2101, 2102, 2105, and 2106) and Category PT cabins (1409, 1410, 1414, 1415, 2109, and 2110).

Cabins with Views of the Ship’s Machinery or Crew Areas 

Some cabins on lower decks may have views of the ship’s machinery or crew areas. While not technically obstructed, these views may not be as appealing or scenic as others. 

Rooms Near Public Restrooms 

Cabins close to public restrooms may experience noise from foot traffic, flushing toilets, and hand dryers. Avoid cabins near the restrooms on the Lido Deck and the main pool areas. 

Rooms Near Stairwells 

Stairwells can be noisy due to people walking up and down, and noise can be heard in nearby cabins. Avoid cabins near the main stairwells on decks 6, 7, and 8 if you don’t want noise. 

Rooms Near Elevators 

Cabins located directly next to or across from the elevator banks should be avoided. These areas can be noisy due to the constant foot traffic and the sound of the elevator doors opening and closing. So, avoid cabins near the midship elevators on decks 6, 7, 8, and 9. 

Rooms Near the Carnival Casino 

The casino on Deck 5 can be noisy during peak hours when it’s bustling with activity. Cabins on Deck 5 near the casino, or directly above or below it, may experience noise from gaming machines, music, and crowds. 

Rooms Near Theaters and Lounges 

The Carnival Sunshine has several entertainment venues, such as the Liquid Lounge on Deck 5 and the Sunshine Atrium on Decks 3 and 5, which can be noisy during shows, events, and late-night parties. Cabins located near or adjacent to these areas may experience noise from music, performances, and crowds. 

Rooms Near the Pool Areas 

The main pool areas on the Lido Deck can be lively and noisy during the day and evening hours. Cabins directly below the pool areas may experience noise from pool activities and crowds. 

Passengers can increase their chances of having a more peaceful and quiet experience in their cabin by avoiding these cabins during Carnival Sunshine cruise. 

Balcony Cabins with Connecting Doors

Some balcony cabins on the Carnival Sunshine have doors that connect to another balcony cabin. These cabins may have issues with noise from nearby guests because the connecting doors don’t block sound well. Balcony cabins with connecting doors include those on Deck 11 (cabins 11012, 11015, 11024, 11027,11028, and 11031) and Deck 10 (cabins 10108, 10112, 10122, 10123, 10127, and 10137).

Oceanview Cabins with Connecting Doors 

Some Oceanview cabins on the Carnival Sunshine may have connecting doors that allow them to be combined with an adjoining cabin. These cabins may have noise from neighboring guests if the connecting door is not soundproofed well. Oceanview cabins with connecting doors are on Deck 5 (cabins 5303, 5304, 5323, 5324, 5331, and 5332) and on deck 1 and deck 2. Check the deck plans for further confirmation. 

Interior Cabins on Lower Decks 

Interior cabins on lower decks like Deck 1 and Deck 2 have less natural light due to their position within the ship’s structure. These cabins may feel cramped and enclosed because they don’t have windows or much natural light. The cabins with limited natural light on Deck 1 are cabins 1474 and 1475 column and on Deck 2 are cabins 2178 and 2179 column. 

Interior cabins in the Ship’s Interior Corridors 

Interior cabins are located deep within the ship’s interior corridors, further away from any natural light sources. These cabins can feel dark and confined, as they rely solely on artificial light. Interior cabins in the ship’s interior corridors are on Deck 6 (4E and 4D) category cabins and Deck 7 (4F and 4E) category cabins. 

Interior Cabins with Obstructed Views 

All interior cabins lack direct access to natural light, some may have their limited views further obstructed by lifeboats. These obstructions can block any indirect natural light from entering the cabin, making it feel even more enclosed. Interior cabins with obstructed views on Deck 6 start from cabins 6101 to 6106 and Deck 7 from cabins 7101 to 7106. 

Interior Cabins Without Nearby Public Spaces 

Some interior cabins are in areas of the ship with few or no nearby public spaces, such as atriums or common areas with natural light sources. These cabins may feel more isolated and lacking in natural light compared to interior cabins closer to public spaces with natural light. 

Interior Cabins with Limited Access to Natural Light and Fresh Air 

Interior cabins without windows or balconies can make some people feel more seasick. Having access to natural light, fresh air, and being able to see the horizon can help reduce seasickness for some individuals. 

Cabins at the Front or Rear of the Ship 

Cabins located at the front or rear of the ship tend to experience more pronounced up-and-down and side-to-side motion in rougher seas. The lowered decks will have increased motion which can contribute to feelings of seasickness for those prone to it. These cabins are on Deck 1 and Deck 2. 

Cabins Near Crew Entrances and Exits 

Avoid cabins near doorways or passages used by crew members to access their quarters or work areas. These areas can be noisy due to the constant foot traffic of crew members coming and going during shift changes. Crew entrances and exits areas are on Deck 1 (forward and aft) and Deck 2 (aft). 

Rooms Near Crew Corridors 

Some hallways on the ship are only for crew members to walk between their work areas and living spaces. Cabins near these crew hallways might hear noise from people walking, carts moving, and crew doing tasks. It’s best to stay away from the crew hallway on Deck 2 at the back of the ship. 

Cabins Near Crew Lounges and Mess Areas 

Crew members have lounges and dining areas where they hang out during breaks. Cabins near these places might hear noise from the crew talking, eating, or having fun. Avoid crew areas like the crew mess on Deck 2 and crew lounge on Deck 1 at the aft of the ship. 

Rooms Near Service Areas and Utility Rooms 

The ship has various service areas, utility rooms, and storage spaces used by the crew for maintenance, supply storage, and other operational purposes. Cabins located near these areas may experience noise from crew activities, machinery, or equipment movement. Avoid cabins near service areas on Decks 1 and 2. 

Cabins Near the Engine Room 

Cabins near the engine room on a cruise ship can be noisy and shaky. The Carnival Sunshine has its engine room at the back, so cabins in the back of lower decks might feel more vibrations and noise. Cabins on Deck 1 and 2 near the back may experience more engine vibrations and noise as these are lower decks.
