It keeps you informed about the schedule and the latest news, so you don’t miss any of the fun. The Carnival Fun Times newsletter includes details about live shows, deck parties, dining options, shore excursions, and more.

The Carnival Fun Times was almost discontinued by Carnival Cruise Line, but they changed their decision in 2023 due to its immense popularity among guests. In 2021, they ceased daily printing of the publication for logical environmental and economic reasons, directing guests to the Carnival Hub App, which contained identical information in digital format and luckily the Carnival Hub App work without Internet Package or WiFi.

There was a significant outcry from guests who clearly longed for the printed product. In February 2023, John Heald (Carnival’s Brand Ambassador) announced on his Facebook page that the company heeds its customers’ feedback and confirmed that the Fun Times would be reinstated in printed form and remain available.

To make the most of the Carnival Fun Times, be sure to read it carefully every day. Keep the Carnival Cruise Fun Times Newsletter in your pocket during the cruise so you can find out everything is going on day or night.

Consider bringing highlighters to indicate the enjoyable activities. When traveling with family, allocate a unique colored highlighter to each person for marking their preferences. This results in a color-coordinated schedule for the following day.

The Fun Times are distributed nightly, allowing you to conclude the day by preparing for tomorrow and giving everyone anticipation for what is ahead.

The Fun Times Carnival may change from week to week on ships with regular schedules. People often ask for the Fun Times from specific ships and trips on message boards and social media. They can give you an idea of onboard activities, remember that things could be different on your trip.

The Carnival Fun Times is a tall, double-sided tri-fold paper newsletter that typically displays the current date, port (or day at sea), sunrise and sunset times, and suggested evening attire on its cover including options such as Cruise Casual or Cruise Elegant.

The cover page also highlights the day’s top entertainment, serving as a daily summary of vital information and key highlights.

The Grand Gathering

The last page of the Fun Times is called “All In A Day’s Play.” It is a shorter version of everything before, focusing on specific events. Here, they list the Drink of the Day, talk about spa treatments, remind you about shore excursions, and more.

This page also includes a list of places on the ship where you can hear live music or a DJ, unique events for teens, Fun Shops specials and hours, and casino promotions or tournaments.

Carnival Cruise ships are like floating cities, so the Fun Times is like a small-town newspaper, giving you all the highlights. It’s also a great souvenir and a reminder of your trip.

All in a Day’s Play

Pages 2, 3, and 4 of Carnival Fun Times contain detailed information about the operating hours and show times for the main activities on the Carnival Cruise ship.

The Carnival FunTimes has undergone significant evolution since its initial introduction. Previously recognized as the Carnival Capers for many years.

This transformation was highlighted by Carnival Brand Ambassador John Heald in a comical blog post, where he reminisced about the era when crew members used to sitting in our cabins… in our underpants… typing the day’s activities out on bits of paper and gluing them to an empty piece of legal size paper, thus creating the daily program of events and meals.

Why Carnival Fun Times was Stopped?

In 2021, Heald announced that the daily list of activities would no longer be printed. He said this was not due to cutbacks but to reduce paper waste. Cabin stewards often found the discarded Fun Times on the floor or in the trash can.

How Cruisers Reacted when Carnival Fun Times was Stopped?

Thousands of people responded to Heald’s post. He asked if people would use the Fun Times or the Hub App more for information. Many liked the App for setting reminders, but bringing back the paper copy was a popular choice.
